Northern Indiana

The Annual Student Hunger Drive of Northern Indiana kicks off this Fall!  The Student Hunger Drive of Northern Indiana is a six week campaign to collect and donate food to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana by area high school students.  This food drive not only helps to fill our local food bank but to also instill a sense of volunteerism and community in area youth.

Students participate through their local high school.  With the help of a faculty advisor, student teams plan events to promote the Drive, organize their food collection, as well as package and deliver food to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.  Students are recognized for their efforts at an awards party on the last day of the Drive.  Prizes are awarded for different levels of achievement and all schools raising at least three pounds of food per student receive participation funds. These funds may be used to offset Student Hunger Drive expenses, for other school projects, or as donations to other non-profit agencies in the students’ communities.

100% of all food donated is distributed directly back to individuals and families living in Northern Indiana through the Food Bank of Northern Indiana and their network of pantries. Visit our website for more details.
