Donate Food


Schools are asked to collect and donate a variety of food products.  The food that is the most needed is canned vegetables, fruits, juice, tuna, canned meats, pork & beans and stews.  When donating, students are encouraged to answer the question, "what would I like to eat tonight?"  Donate food that makes a meal!

Each school is limited to 1,000 lbs of pet food and a maximum of 12 cases of water towards their total.  The Foodbank will not accept clothing, perishable items, bulk items, or soda in connection with the Student Hunger Drive.  

Community members are encouraged to donate food at their favorite area high school. 

2011 Community Member Donation Deadlines:
  • QC: Delivered to the River Bend Foodbank by 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 10
  • Charlotte: Delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina by 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 16
